The Plan of Happiness, for All

E, H, V, wonderful Baptism Day!

Hermanas Day and Berger

Making Papusas
This Friday for Halloween we have an activity as a zone where we all get pizza and play some games and watch the Restoration video. It'll be weird b/c we're all missionaries and not used to "breaks"--I'm sure it'll be fun too :)

E, H, and V got baptized yesterday and it was soooooooooo gooooooood :) They're such a cute family! As presents, their family members gave them some "Preach My Gospel" books!

We did a cute missionary minute on the PLAN OF SALVATION, the Plan of Happiness. Here's what we presented in English:

We are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. We lived with Him before this life and chose to come to earth to follow His plan.

His plan is a plan of happiness and makes it possible for us to return to His presence and glory after this life. As part of His plan, in this life we walk by faith. We follow our Savior's example and recognize that only through His mercy, love, and sacrifice may we return.

Your decisions here determine your destiny in the eternities.

Center to His plan is our families. They guide us, protect us, and love us. Through the Lord's plan, His divine goal is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man -- of families.

To be with our families for eternity, we prepare to make promises, or covenants, with the Lord.

Through faith, repentance, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, we make sacred steps and strive to stay worthy of all the blessings promised. With holy temples today, we make everlasting covenants. Through which, the greatest gift we can receive is given -- eternal life, to live in God's
presence and become like Him.

Our Heavenly Father has once again reached out to His children in love and has revealed His plan of happiness. You learn about His design in the Book of Mormon, which we invite you to read, ponder, and pray about. We promise that as you take these steps in your lives, you will feel the love of the Lord and you will understand your role in His plan.

I love you all lots! I cannot even express how much I love this gospel and this work!

Popsicle Lightsaber Fight

Hola hola todos!

Sorry, this'll be a quick one, I'm on a library computer today and time is ticking faster than usual!

This week has truly been amazing, as usual, as we work the work of the Lord! H and We have very special baptisms this Sunday! They are so amazing, prepared, and have wonderful testimonies starting to blossom already! They are very grateful for their family examples in their lives and for the invite to have the missionaries visit :) You all keep being those examples and testifying with your hearts and actions!

We had a lot of exchanges this week, talked to a lot of people, and saw miracles as we opened our mouths and testified with sincerity. We're learning to "envision success" and act in faith! The area here in NoHo is amazing and I'm really seen myself grow a lot so far thanks to my companion and the people. I still feel like I'm new here, but I'm slowly getting to know others in the area. :) Life is good, the gospel is true, and missions are the greatest!

I love you all lots and lots, big big hugs! Have an amazing week and don't forget to ponderize! :) Here's the scripture I had for the past week:

"Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might known these things of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me" (Alma 5:46)

Love you all and continue to have that spirit with you constantly!

Hermana Berger and Hermana Day
Hola Hola!

I was transferred to the North Hollywood area—just one area from my first area in Burbank. My companion, Hermana Berger, is from St. George, Utah. She can help me become more gluten free!

I so love teaching and testifying of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and that there is a happiness and peace out there and in the life to come. I can't imagine living in this crazy world without a hope or knowledge of the love and plan my Heavenly Father and Savior have for us.

I was reading in Jacob 5 today and it stood out to me a few times where the Lord of the Vineyard says "I would not that I should lose this tree" -- it truly is the Lord's work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of His children. I am so thankful to be a part of this work.

Anyway, before I never really understood what a mission was or what it would entailed. Now that I am here and have lived 2/3 of it . . . there really is nothing better at this time in my life! What I am learned and am learning will be treasured into the eternities. It's difficult to describe, and I'm sitting here in an Apple store with tears in my eyes, but if anything, I've learned that this gospel is true and I will never back down from defending my Lord and Savior and bringing his children back unto Him.

I hope you're all ponderizing a scripture this week :) Mine is Alma 5:46: "Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the Spirit of revelation which is in me."

I love you all lots!

Hola Hola mi familia!

I love you all so much! I feel your spirits and prayers every day and boy was Conference uplifting! We watched the Women's conference in Spanish and the rest this weekend in English.

New apostles, wooooooooo, they're awesome!!!! Side note family, when I was in the MTC and got a call from someone in the 70 that I could stay on my mission and be the exception, it was Elder Rasband! WHAT!? Conference was super inspiring and we received a lot of answers and guidance! I especially loved President Uctdorf, Elder Holland, and Elder Nelson -- with all their wonderful talks about divine nature, potential, and exaltation! Mother power! Teacher power! Power from the Heaven! Families! ...I could go on forever ;) I truly loved it! Especially about how we can raise righteous families and have the power to discern, teach, guide, and protect. Throughout the talks about families and mothers, I was bawling. I love you mommy, grammas, aunts, and sisters! And I love this divine potential and nature that we are given!

I made a summary of our awesome attributes from Russell M. Nelsons talk:

"[We are] are filled with love, truth, pure faith, peace that surpasses everything; we are angelic, tranquil, stalwart, strong, courageous, devoted, covenant keepers, devout defenders of the faith; we reflect righteousness and we are articulate; we are different from the world in happy ways, full of virtue, light, love, knowledge, courage, character, faith . . . we speak with power and authority of God, have the gift of discernment to view the trends of this world, make important thing happen through our faith, we shepherd children on the covenant path, we know the power and peace of the endowment, call upon the powers of heaven to protect children and families, teach fearlessly, speak what comes to our heart and mind, follow impressions insights and inspirations; we are contributing and a full partner with a firm understanding of the doctrine of Christ; we will raise a sin-resistant generation; we will detect deception in all, as we use the power of our covenants, and we will express beliefs with confidence and clarity."

We were then promised that "The Holy Ghost will magnify our influence in an unprecedented way," as we "rise to our full stature and fulfill the measure of our sacred calls."

WOW!

General Conference was pretty much the high light of my week!

I am being transferred on Tuesday to North Hollywood/Burbank area. We have English and Spanish missionaries in our area now, but I'll still be in the Spanish district and ward.  I say goodbye to this area and the sweet people here. It will be hard. It's probably the least thing I like to do . . . say goodbye to people . . . but I know that these are eternal friendships and I will see them again and Heavenly Father will continue to take care of them!  : )

I'm thankful for all the time that I have been able to spend here, and love to say 1/3 of my mission has been in this area. ♥

Con mucho carino,

Hermana Day
